Spurrier: We'll Be Ready For Wofford

By Sports Department

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) -- Carolina and Clemson will likely clash next Saturday with the two teams ranked the highest ever in the Palmetto State Showdown's 110 year history. Steve Spurrier says his team won't be looking ahead to next week and overlook FCS Wofford this Saturday.

"We're going to be ready to play," Spurrier said at his Tuesday weekly press conference. "If they beat us, it wasn't because we were screwing around all week."

"We're out of the SEC now so now we're after wins," Spurrier said.

A win Saturday would tie Steve Spurrier with Rex Enright with 64 career wins at USC, the most all-time. It would also be the first time since 1987 that the Gamecocks finished a season undefeated at home and would extend Spurrier's unblemished career record against non-BCS opponents to 47-0, 21-0 at South Carolina.
