(WOLO) -- Before joining the Gamecocks, Gaffney's Shaq Davidson will get a chance to compete against the best high school players in the country.

Davidson, who led the Indians to the Class AAAA state championship last season at quarterback but was recruited to Carolina as a wide receiver and verbally committed to USC July 2nd, will play in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl January 4th.

Davidson told the Spartanburg Herald-Journal he's looking forward to compete against the best players in the country.
