COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)--The family of 18 year old Martha Childress will speak to the media for the first time Monday afternoon.
In a release sent to ABC Columbia News it says the family will be making a brief statement in the courtyard of Jake's on Devine, a Five Points business, on Monday, October 21, 2013 at 2pm.
Childress was shot by a stray bullet last weekend while waiting on a cab at the Five points fountain.
She is reportedly paralyzed.
Michael Juan Smith has been arrested in connection with the shooting, Columbia police say Childress was not the intended target.
