COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) -- Former Gamecock Marcus Lattimore is featured on a new Under Armour commercial.
The running back is currently a rookie with the San Francisco 49ers.
The commercial shares Lattimore's battle to return to football after two knee surgeries.
"When I'm on the football field my effort is relentless, I want every yard I can get. All my life I've had expectations put on me. I was 2010 Freshman of the Year, All-American; going into my sophomore year I tore my ACL. A little over a year bam it happens again. I didn't know if I was going to play football again, possibly I couldn't even walk again, but it did make me stronger," Lattimore said in the commercial.
Lattimore's mom is also featured in the commercial.
"Every time he got hurt I thought ok this is it, but he keeps proving me wrong. He keeps proving me wrong," said Yolanda Smith.
"Family is very important to me. They've always been there for me. I'm very excited to play pro ball, to be successful at this level, it's not easy. But if you really want something you need to push yourself beyond your limits, beyond your pain, people wonder if I'll reach my full potential in this game, I just tell them one thing. I will," said Lattimore.
