SCE&G: Customers May See Rate Hike

With all the cold weather we’re experiencing SCE&G customers need to brace for a rate hike. South Carolina Electric and Gas is requesting the Public Service Commission approve a 9.5 percent increase. This works out to about a 12 dollar increase on your bill over the course of a year. SCE&G says the increase will help cover the cost of new equipment required to meet government guidelines. The increase will not be debated until the Public Service Commission meets in the spring.
