Problems Continue For M.B. Park

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (AP) _ Freestyle Music Park is closing itsbusiness offices and laying off about 30 employees as executiveswork to get new investors into the amusement park. Park general manager Steve Baker told The Sun News of MyrtleBeach for a story Saturday that it was taking longer than expectedto reach a deal between the park’s current investors in Russia andthe potential new investors. Park managers hope to reopen in thespring. Many businesses, entertainers and vendors are awaiting paymentfrom the 2009 season. Nine lawsuits and more than a dozen lienshave been filed against the park for unpaid bills since July. The amusement park was built two years ago as Hard Rock Park. Itwent bankrupt after the opening season, was sold last year andrenamed Freestyle Music Park.
