Tigers Set For Opening Day

CLEMSON, S.C. (AP) — Clemson coach Jack Leggett thinks his Tigers are ready to take another, much bigger, step forward. Clemson missed the NCAA tournament in 2008, ending a postseason run of more than two decades. The Tigers rebounded last season to go 44-22 and reach the NCAA super regionals, where they fell to Arizona State. Leggett says Clemson expects to build on that showing this season with the goal of reaching the College World Series for the first time since 2006. The Tigers start the season Friday at home against Miami of Ohio.
