Investigation Underway at Ft. Jackson

(AP) _ The Army has been investigating fivesoldiers in South Carolina at its largest training base after somepotentially threatening comments were made toward their fellowsoldiers. But Army spokeswoman Julia Simpkins said Friday no soldiers wereever in danger. Simpkins says an investigation continues at FortJackson, located outside Columbia. On Thursday, an Army spokesman at the Pentagon said theinvestigation involved allegations that soldiers’ food was beingpoisoned, but no credible information to support the allegationswas found. Lt. Col. Christopher Garver said the investigation has beengoing on for almost two months. Garver said he could not release any specifics of theinvestigation by the Army’s Criminal Investigative Service.
