Locals Get Some of MNF Spotlight

(WOLO) — Monday Night Football would not be the same without Columbia, SC. At least Monday, August 23rd’s game wouldn’t have been the same. Three players with local ties received significant playing time in Tennessee’s 24-10 win against Arizona. Former Gamecock tight end Jared Cook continued his solid second NFL preseason with two catches for 34 yards. Former Ben Lippen High School standout Samkon Gado made a strong bid to back-up Chris Johnson, who set the NFL record for yards from scrimmage with the Titans last season. The veteran free agent Gado had 7 rushes for 21 yards and two touchdowns. Former Spring Valley High School and Citadel standout Andre Roberts’ adjustment to the NFL continues to be a work in progress. Arizona’s 4th round draft pick had 1 catch for 11 yards and returned 1 punt for 8 yards.
