DMV worker charged with taking $11,000
COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) – A second worker at the South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles has been charged with taking more than $11,000 from the agency.
Multiple media outlets reported that 49-year-old Anita Meetze Rainey of Irmo has been arrested and charged with embezzlement of public funds. A warrant says Rainey took more than $11,500 from the DMV office in Blythewood between June 2009 and June 2010.
It was unclear if Rainey has an attorney.
Last week the State Law Enforcement Division said 39-year-old Wendy Gaskins of West Columbia had been arrested and accused of taking more than $300,000.
