More tests for 14-year-old boy in shooting
CONWAY, S.C. (AP) – A South Carolina judge has ordered a 14-year-old student to remain in custody for more psychological tests after a high school shooting last month.
Several media outlets reported the teen was in court in Conway for a detention hearing Tuesday. His name has not been released because of his age.
Family Court Judge Ronald Norton ordered more psychological tests before deciding if the youth should face charges as an adult. Another hearing is set November 19th.
The youth has been in custody since last month’s shooting at Socastee High School. He’s charged with attempted murder; possession, threatened or attempted use of weapon of mass destruction; and possession of a destructive device.
Investigators say a shot injured a school resource officer. Two pipe bombs were found at the school.
