Deputies Discover $1 Million in Pot Plants

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) – Lee county deputies say they found $1 million in marijuana plants in a wooded area Tuesday.

Sheriff Daniel Simon says a SLED helicopter discovered the plants in the McGee area of Lee County near King Road and Timber Creek Road.

Simon says investigators found more than 850 plants, some of which have a street value of up to $ 1,300.

Investigators do not suspect the property owner but rather believe someone trespassed on the land to plant the marijuana.
