USC Up In Polls, Kentucky Game Time Set

Columbia, SC (USC SID) — The South Carolina football squad moved
up in the national polls following its convincing 35-21 win over previous No. 1-
ranked and defending national champion Alabama on Saturday.

The Gamecocks (4-1, 2-1 SEC) are ranked 10th in this week’s Associated Press poll
and 12th in the latest USA TODAY/Coaches poll, both released today. They moved
up nine spots in the A.P. poll and eight notches in the coaches’ poll after being ranked
19th and 20th in last week’s polls, respectively.

The Gamecocks are ranked in the Associated Press Top-10 for the first time since the
October 14, 2007 poll, when they were 6-1 and ranked sixth in the nation following a
21-15 win at North Carolina.

The Gamecocks will put their lofty ranking on the line next Saturday night when they
travel to Lexington to face the Kentucky Wildcats (3-3, 0-3 SEC). Game time is set
for 6 p.m. ET and the game will be televised nationally on ESPN2.
