Wilson, Miller Spar on Jobs
COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) – Democrat Rob Miller says incumbent U.S. Rep. Joe Wilson has a slogan, not a plan, for bringing jobs to South Carolina, and the two disagree on the affects of a trade agreement with Central America.
The Republican congressman known for heckling President Barack Obama last year faced his challenger Sunday afternoon in a live debate that focused on jobs. Miller blamed Wilson for textile jobs going to El Salvador and other countries because of his vote for the Central America Free Trade Agreement. But Wilson argued the agreement was good for jobs and for national security. Wilson’s ads say “Joe Means Jobs.”
Wilson frequently talked about House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and her liberal policies. Miller told him to move to San Francisco if he wants to run against her.
