Favre Wants To Play Sunday

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP) _ Brett Favre is not ruling himself out

of Sunday’s game at New England despite two fractures in his left

The Vikings quarterback will not practice Wednesday and probably

won’t until at least Friday. He says he has always had a “knack”

for healing quickly and that gives him hope that he’ll be back when

Minnesota (2-4) plays the Patriots (5-1).

Favre was injured in Sunday’s loss to Green Bay.

The 41-year-old Favre has a stress fracture in his ankle and an

“avulsion” fracture in the heel bone, where a fragment has been

torn away by a tendon or ligament. He doesn’t need surgery.

Favre has started an NFL-record 291 consecutive games, 315

including the playoffs.
