Army general speaks at USC
COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — U.S. Army Gen. Stanley McChrystal is speaking about global leadership at the University of South Carolina.
The former U.S. commander in Afghanistan is delivering a lecture entitled “American Leadership in a Complex World” on Thursday.
President Obama removed the four-star general from his command in June, saying McChrystal’s scornful comments in Rolling Stone magazine about administration officials undermined civilian control of the military.
McChrystal previously served as director of the Joint Staff and as commander of the Joint Special Operations Command. His lecture is free and open to the public.
