Banner plane crashes off coast
MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (AP) — A plane towing an advertising banner crashed into the Atlantic Ocean along South Carolina’s Grand Strand.
Authorities say only the pilot was on board the plane and was not hurt.
The Sun News of Myrtle Beach reports the plane went down Friday just off the beach between Myrtle Beach and Briarcliffe Acres.
Spokeswoman Leslie Yancey of Horry County Fire Rescue said 10 people went into the water and pulled the plane ashore.
