Fallen Soldier Ceremony
COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — Legislators honored the 15 military men and women from South Carolina who died overseas last year.
The annual ceremony and luncheon to recognize the family of fallen service members took place Wednesday at the Summit Club, across from the Statehouse in Columbia. Republican Sen. Jake Knotts of West Columbia is hosting the event.
Lawmakers and family members will then walk to Senate chambers. The families will be recognized and honored with a resolution.
Thirteen soldiers, an airman and a Marine from South Carolina died in 2010.
