Charlotte-bound US Airways flight diverted to SC

GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) — Officials say a US Airways flight en route from Dallas to Charlotte, N.C., made an emergency landing in Greenville after someone smelled smoke onboard the plane.

Airport spokeswoman Rosylin Weston says the plane landed at Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport just after 1 p.m. on Monday.

Weston says emergency responders met the plane on the tarmac. No one on board was injured, and Weston says the roughly 100 passengers on the plane were taken by bus to Charlotte.

Officials did not know what caused the smoke smell, and the matter is still under investigation.
