Former Gamecock Suspended by NFL

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO) — Former Gamecock and current Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Weslye Saunders will be suspended for the first four games of the the 2012 season. According to multiple reports out of Pittsburgh, Saunders violated the NFL’s performance enhancing substance policy. Saunders had just four receptions for 29 yards and one touchdown during his rookie season in 2011. Saunders was signed by the Steelers as an undrafted free agent in 2011. He was dismissed from the South Carolina football team in mid September of his senior year for a violation of team rules.
