Martin Lands First Two USC Recruits

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — Frank McGuire is the gold standard of Gamecock basketball coaches. New USC coach Frank Martin didn’t take long to take a page out of the legend’s playbook. Thursday night, Martin landed his first Gamecock recruit from the same place McGuire developed a USC pipeline in the 1960s and 70s. Brooklyn guard Thaddeus Hall committed to USC over St. John’s, Virginia Tech and Maryland among others. Hall is 6’5″ 180 lbs and led Thomas Jefferson to the class AA New York City championship game. He averaged 25 points per game in the playoffs. Later Thursday night, 6’8″ Minda Kacinas committed to Carolina. Kacinas was on an official visit to USC. He is originally from Lithuania and played last season in Wichita, KS. Martin and his staff recruited Kacinas while at Kansas St.
