ERIE, PA (WOLO) — Former Gamecock baseball player Reese Havens saw the his first pitch of 2012 and took it over the right field wall. Havens is one of the Mets promising prospects since being drafted in 2008. Havens however has had a hard time staying healthy due to nagging injuries. Havens, 25, fought through a left oblique strain this spring. Most of his injuries have mainly been in his back and sides during his four years in the Mets minor league system. Havens went 3-for-4 in his 2012 debut for Binghamtom as his Mets defeated Erie 7-1.
