Lexington Baseball Eliminates White Knoll

Lexington, S.C. — A.J. Hart pitched a complete-game five-hitter and Austin Bello and Dalton Addy drove in two runs each that helped top-ranked Lexington to a 5-1 over 10th-ranked White Knoll in an elimination game in the Lower State AAAA baseball playoffs on Thursday. Lexington, which improved to 27-3, plays at Ashley Ridge at 6 p.m. in the Lower State finals on Friday. The Wildcats must win twice to advance to the state finals next week. The Timberwolves end the season with a 23-8 record. Addy’s two-run single in the fourth inning gave Lexington a 3-1 lead. Bello, who finished with two hits, capped Lexington’s four-run fourth inning with a two-run single. Colie Bowers added two hits and scored twice for Lexington. Hart (7-0) picked up the win allowing a run with two walks and three strikeouts. Rick Harrison (2-3) suffered the loss surrendering five runs, three earned, on five hits over seven innings.
