USC’s Dyson Makes MLB Debut

(WOLO) — It didn’t take the Toronto Blue Jays long to get Sam Dyson his first outing as a Major Leaguer. Dyson, the former Gamecock standout who was part of the 2010 national championship team, walked one and struck out one in a short big league debut in Toronto’s 9-6 loss to Kansas City. Dyson was called up Thursday after posting a 0.75 ERA in 15 relief appearances for the AA New Hampshire Fisher Cats. The Tampa native was a fourth round draft pick by Toronto in 2010 and sat out the 2011 season recovering from Tommy John surgery.
