ECU Redemption For Connor Shaw?

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — Last season then sophomore Connor Shaw got the nod against ECU in the first quarter. Head coach Steve Spurrier was undecided who his starter for the season was going to be and planned to give former starter Stephen Garcia the nod in the second quarter and planned to see where he was going to go based off performance. Shaw went 3 for 9 in the first quarter for 21-yards and was sacked once. Garcia went 1 for 2, 20-yards passing and 2 rushes for 37 yards including a 32-yard rush for the touchdown. Garcia went 2 for 5 for 27 yards in the rest of the quarter and had won the starting job from there. Shaw didn’t start again until the 6th game of the season versus Kentucky after Garcia had lost the starting job and was kicked off the team several days later. Shaw went 26 for 39 for 311 yards and 4 touchdowns against the Wildcats.
