Lattimore Versus ECU

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) – Marcus Lattimore just about had his way with ECU last year. Lattimore had 112 yards on 23 carries and scored three touchdowns. What can we expect from him this weekend? Last week against Vanderbilt, Lattimore had similar numbers to last year versus ECU – 110 yards on 23 carries averaging out to 4.8 yards per carry. Lattimore scored two rushing touchdowns last Thursday as well. For Lattimore’s career (through the end of last season) he averages 4.9 yards per carry on 412 carries for 2,015 yards. Last week against Applachian State, the ECU defense allowed just 119 yards on 32 carries for the entire Mountaineers offense. However, Lattimore and the rest of the running back corps is a lot more talented and deeper. Even though Connor Shaw practiced yesterday, the first time since he sustained a shoulder injury at Vandy, there will still be questions about the passing game for a while, so expect the offense to run heavy and often.
