Wildcats off to a superb start under RichRod
TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) — Arizona football became relevant again with a lopsided win over Oklahoma State.
After beating the 18th-ranked Cowboys 59-38 on Saturday, the Wildcats moved into The Associated Press poll for the first time in nearly two years, coming in at No. 24.
Playing hard and fast under new coach Rich Rodriguez, Arizona won its first two games and has a good chance of going 3-0 on Saturday with FCS opponent South Carolina State coming to town.
The Wildcats have taken up-tempo to new levels, participating in a school-record 182 plays in each of their first two games, and have been prolific on offense behind quarterback Matt Scott, ranking second nationally with 65 first downs.
