Charleston Southern Pulls Out 31-21 Win At Home

CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) — Charleston Southern shut out Presbyterian in the second half to claim a 31-21 Big South victory on Saturday. Charleston Southern trailed 14-0 in the first quarter and 21-13 at halftime. Teddy Allen carried the load for the Buccaneers (3-4, 2-1), rushing for a career-high 153 yards and four touchdowns, including a 63-yard run in the second quarter. He was the major contributor in Charleston Southern’s 271 yards on the ground. Allen’s fourth TDs tied Andre Copeland’s school single-game record. Charleston Southern held Presbyterian (2-6, 0-3) to 45 total yards and two first downs in the second half, limiting the Blue Hose to 4-of-14 passing for 27 yards. Presbyterian was forced to punt nine times in the game. Demarcus Rouse rushed for 109 yards and scored three touchdowns — two in the first quarter for the Buccaneers’ 14-0 lead — and Lance Byrd ran for 102 yards.
