More than 200 Guests Attend Merger Reception at the Columbia Museum of Art (COLUMBIA, SC) – More than 200 guests, including South Carolina business leaders, economic development officials, Columbia Mayor Steve Benjamin, clients of the firm and special guests attended a reception held June 26th at the Columbia Museum of Art to celebrate the merger of Ellis Lawhorne with Adams and Reese. Managing Partner Charles P. Adams, Jr. and Executive Committee Chair Gif Thornton were joined by attorneys and management from throughout the firm‘s regional footprint at the museum in celebration of the firm‘s first South Carolina office. “We have been so warmly welcomed to Columbia by business and community leaders, clients and friends,” Adams stated. “We are very enthusiastic about the opportunity to expand to one of the fastest growing metro areas in the Southeast and look forward to our future growth here.” The merger of Adams and Reese with Ellis Lawhorne was effective June 1, 2013. With the addition of 23 attorneys in Columbia, Adams and Reese has over 340 attorneys and advisors resident in 16 offices in seven states throughout the Southern United States and Washington, D.C.
