South Carolina overcoming defensive injuries

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) âone space€one space” All of the foot injuries that have hit No. 12 South Carolina has made it difficult at times for defensive coordinator Lorenzo Ward to prepare for undefeated UCF. Both defensive ends Jadeveon Clowney and Chaz Sutton are coping with foot problems, meaning Ward and his assistants have to balance practice with rest âone space€one space” likely for the remainder of the season. The two defensive lineman spent much of South Carolina’s bye week getting treatment and not irritating their injuries so they’ll be full speed when the Gamecocks (2-1) take on the Knights (3-0) on Saturday in Orlando, Fla. South Carolina defensive line coach Deke Adams says Clowney and Sutton didn’t have any setbacks this week and will be in the lineup at UCF.
