Charleston Southern gets ready for Big South games

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — At 8-1. the season so far couldn’t have gone much better for Charleston Southern, but that start will lose a lot of its luster if the Buccaneers falter in their final stretch of four Big South Conference games. The crucial stretch starts Saturday at Presbyterian. Coach Jamey Chadwell says he has told his team conference games are the most important thing. The Buccaneers and the Blue Hose are one of only three remaining unbeaten teams in Big South play, along with Coastal Carolina. The winner gets the inside track to a possible title run. In other games involving South Carolina’s Football Championship Subdivision teams, Coastal Carolina hosts Charlotte, Furman travels to Georgia Southern, The Citadel is at home to play Samford and South Carolina State is at Savannah State.
