COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — The Gamecocks try to extend the nation’s longest home winning streak to 16 games when they kick it off tonight with Florida at 7 p.m. on ESPN2.

Steve Spurrier is facing his alma mater for the 9th time. The Ball Coach has a 3-5 career record against the Gators. Florida (4-5) comes into today on its first 4-game losing streak since its winless season of 1979. The Gators need a win against either #10 USC today or #2 Florida St. in their season finale to become bowl eligible this season.

Carolina can finish 6-2 in the SEC this season with a win over Florida and keep their SEC East division title and BCS bowl game hopes alive.
