COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — Steve Spurrier says he hopes to make more special memories at the Capital One Bowl like the Gamecocks made two years ago. Sunday night the Gamecocks officially accepted an invite to the highest paying non-BCS bowl game. USC will play Wisconsin in Orlando January 1st at 1 p.m. on ABC Columbia.
On New Year’s Day 2012, Spurrier & Co. set a USC school record with 11 wins by beating Nebraska 30-13. With a win again this year, USC would finish with its third straight 11-2 season.
