UConn finishes season at No. 1 in AP women’s poll
UConn finishes the season as it started — No. 1 in The Associated Press women’s basketball poll.
The Huskies are the unanimous choice, marking the 12th season that Connecticut has topped the final poll of the season. UConn’s only blemish came early in the season at Stanford. The Huskies haven’t lost since, reclaiming the top spot for the final five weeks after beating then-No. 1 South Carolina on Feb. 9.
UConn is followed Monday by Notre Dame, South Carolina, Maryland and Baylor.
Tennessee, Florida State, Louisville, Arizona State and Oregon State round out the first 10. Undefeated Princeton finishes 13th.
The top 23 teams in the poll stayed the same as the previous week with most of the Top 25 already having completed their conference tournaments.
South Florida re-enters the poll at No. 25. Seton Hall fell out.
