COLUMBIA, S.C. — While there is no timetable for naming a starting quarterback, on Tuesday, USC Head Coach Steve Spurrier and Quarterbacks Coach G.A. Mangus both described traits they’re looking for in their starter this season. Spurrier and Mangus weren’t coy in what improvements USC’s quarterbacks need to make before the season, and both coaches mentioned “quickness” repeatedly in their conversations with the media after Tuesday’s practice. “We gotta move faster,” said Spurrier. “Quickness when the ball is snapped. After the ball is snapped, we gotta get moving. The quarterbacks gotta move their feet, stay active, let it go.” Click the video to watch Spurrier’s and Mangus’s comments after Tuesday’s practice.
