5 People Detained in Brussels Over Paris Attacks

(ABC News) — Two people were detained early today and three other people detained late Sunday in Brussels in connection with the Paris attacks in November, the Belgian federal prosecutor said.

An investigating judge who specializes in terrorism cases ordered a search of a house in Brussels Sunday, the prosecutor said in a statement.

The search was connected with the federal investigation of the Paris attacks that killed 130 people and based on a “thorough analysis of phone records.”

Two brothers were taken for questioning, as well as a third person, who is a friend of the two brothers, the statement said.

Authorities today searched another house in Laeken, also in Brussels, according to the Belgian federal prosecutor’s statement, where two people were arrested.

No explosives or weapons were found during the searches, the statement said.
