SUMMERVILLE, S.C. Police say a North Charleston woman died in what they are describing as a “freak accident” in the drive-thru lane of a Summerville coffee shop.

Authorities say the woman was in the Biggby Coffee drive-thru when she apparently leaned out of the car to reach for something she had dropped. Police say her car then lurched forward, pinning her between the building and the car.

The Dorchester County Coroner identified the woman as 28-year-old Pamela Page.

A relative confirmed that Pamela is a mother of three children; a 9-year-old, a 6-year-old and a 5-month-old.

“The employees that witnessed this, it’s a hard place to be in. What they viewed, what they experienced, yeah, yeah, as for any of us, it would be very, very hard, very sad,” said ChaplainSonya Buncum.

Biggby’s closed after the incident, posting a sign that it would be closed for two days. Police are referring to the incident as a “freak accident.”

The Summerville Police Department is investigating the incident.
