Police Probe If Wind Played Role in Fatal 7-Story Fall
TEANECK, N.J. (AP) — Police are investigating whether powerful wind gusts played a role in the death of a man who fell off the roof of a seven-story office building in New Jersey.
Teaneck police say Clifford LeMay, the building manager at the Glenpointe office complex, was found on the ground around 7 a.m. Tuesday.
Authorities say the 56-year-old had gone up to the roof to check for damage from the strong winds overnight. But it’s not clear if he was blown off the roof and hit a tree in the fall.
Police say the death appears to be an accident and no foul play is suspected.
The National Weather Service recorded a peak wind gust in the area of 32 mph around the time of the accident.
