Massachusetts Workplace Shooting Leaves 1 Hurt, Gunman Dead
CAMBRIDGE, Mass (AP) — A man shot and injured a former co-worker at a Massachusetts business before killing himself in what police are calling an act of workplace violence.
A police spokesman says a man who had been fired a couple of months ago shot from outside at his former employer’s Cambridge building at about 7:45 a.m. Thursday, striking one employee.
That employee was taken to the hospital with injuries that weren’t considered life-threatening.
Police spokesman Jeremy Warnick says the gunman then killed himself. Their names weren’t released, but Warnick says both are men.
According to broadcast reports, the shooting happened at a health insurance company.
