7.0 Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Japan; Tsunami Advisory Issued
(ABC News) — A magnitude 7.0 earthquake rocked southern Japan today, prompting a tsunami advisory. The quake ignited powerful aftershocks, including one registering at 5.8.
Today’s quake struck near Kumamoto, just one day after a deadly earthquake in the same area left at least 9 dead and injured more than 800. Thursday’s quake sent aftershocks throughout the area and forced tens of thousands of people to be evacuated.
