Sumter Co. Deputies Search for Sexual Assault Suspect

SUMTER, S.C. (WOLO) — The Sumter County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a man they say tried to sexually assault an 11-year-old girl.

Investigators say the suspect broke into a home in the 2600 block of Tindal Road and attacked the girl Tuesday afternoon.

The child was able to escape and the man fled.

Officials describe the suspect as a man with blonde hair.   He is said to be between the ages of 20 and 30 years old and has tattoos on his upper left arm and right forearm.   He was last seen wearing black pants, brown boots and a black t-shirt with either a bird or wing design on the front.

He is believed to be driving a red truck with a silver toolboxes on each side.   The truck was said to have scratches on both sides.

Anyone who spots this person should not approach him, but call 911.
