A North Carolina man has been arrested by the FBI for allegedly trying to recruit people to train and launch ISIS-inspired terrorist attacks inside the U.S. homeland.

Erick Jamal Hendricks was arrested after allegedly contacting several people over social media online, including a man in Ohio who pledged his allegiance to ISIS and attempted to purchase an AK-47 from an undercover law enforcement officer, according to the Justice Department.

Hendricks had also allegedly been in touch with Elton Simpson, one of the two men who conducted the failed attack on the “First Annual Muhammad Art Exhibit and Contest” in Garland, Texas.
