Mississippi Man Arrested, Dog Owner Also Charged in Dog Abuse Case

LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO) – Police say a 21-year-old Mississippi man was arrested for his role in a dog abuse case that was first reported on social media.

Saquiriauki ‘Serio’ Mister is charged with one felony count of ill treatment of an animal for allegedly kicking a dog down a flight of stairs at the Cedarcrest Village Apartments in Lexington on October 16.

Authorities with the Lexington Police Department say information was shared on their Facebook page that included several photographs and a video showing a small white dog being kicked by an individual several times and then picked up and thrown down the stairs of the apratment complex.

Mister fled back to Mississippi during the investigation, police say.

The dog’s owner, Timothy Mister, 43, of Lexington was arrested and is charged with obstruction of justice and misprison of a felony.

Timothy Mister was originally charged with maltreatment of an animal by Lexington County Animal Control for failing to seek treatment of the dog after the incident.

Authorities say the investigation is ongoing.
