Citizen’s complaints lands Newberry County man behind bars on drug, child neglect charges
NEWBERRY COUNTY, SC (WOLO) – Investigators with the Newberry County Sheriff’s Department say complaints from the community landed a Prosperity man in jail. on multiple drug charges.
Following the months long investigation, Benjamin Chandler was arrested on charges of trafficking crack cocaine (3rd offense), possession of cocaine (3rd Offense), trafficking crack cocaine within the proximity of a school or park, unlawful neglect of a child, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Sheriff Lee Foster said undercover deputies were able to purchase crack cocaine from Chandler.
Investigators say a one-year-old child was in the home at the time of his arrest.
