Don Newcombe, 92

Don Newcombe, pictured in March 1956, was one of the first black players in the major leagues. The hard-throwing Brooklyn Dodgers pitcher went on to win Rookie of the Year, Most Valuable Player and Cy Young awards. He died early on Feb. 19 at the age of 92. AP
