Governor McMaster announces schools will stay closed through the end of the school year
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) – Governor Henry McMaster and Superintendent of Education Molly Spearman announced Wednesday that schools in South Carolina will remain closed for the remainder of the school year amid the novel coronavirus pandemic.
As the coronavirus pandemic maintains a sturdy grip on across the nation, the order dashed any hope that seniors will return for graduation.

Superintendent Spearman said that while some students are thriving with e-learning, some families struggle with having access to the internet.
Virtual graduations for seniors are being planned by some districts across the state.
