Budget Cuts Delayed

Governor Sanford met with the budget and control board this morning. The result, a delay in a possible cut of two hundred million dollars from the state’s budget. The board voted to delay the cuts until the board of economic advisors issues a new revenue forecast. The budget and control board will meet next month to consider the new forecast.

A former police chief will spend the next three years on probation. Richland County deputies are still searching for a woman they say tried to cash a fraudulent check.
