Wrinkle Free Wednesday: Revitalash vs. Latisse

Mascara may not be the only thing that you’ll be using to enhance your eyelashes. In tonight’s Wrinkle Free Wednesday segment, we take a look at two products that claim to truly lengthen and thicken your eyelash hairs. We head to the Carolina Cosmetic Institute, and take a look at Latisse and Revita-lash. These pictures don’t lie— Anne Marie Moncure now has long, beautiful lashes. “I started with eyelashes that on Saturday morning if you wanted to go to the grocery store you didn’t take off your sunglasses because you didn’t want anyone to see you with out makeup,” Moncure said. Ann Marie has been using a product called Latisse. You can get it with a prescription from your doctor. At night, she applies one drop to a disposable sterile applicator, and spreads the product evenly along the skin of her upper eyelid. By 4-6 weeks, Anne Marie says she saw a dramatic improvement. “I’ve gained 10 minutes a day, I don’t even have to put mascara on or wear my sunglasses when I go to the grocery store,” says Moncure. Debbie Stankus also has seen her eyelashes grow to be longer, but with a different product—she has been using Revitalash. A product that is applied more like liquid eyeliner. One swipe across the top lid and you are done. “I had lost quite a few eyelashes due to medication and I was not happy about it,” said Debbie Stankus. But, Debbie is smiling now–and, it only took 8 weeks. “I’ve had a lot of people comment about my eyelashes and it never happened before.” Facial plastic surgeon, Chad Gunnlaugsson, with the Carolina Cosmetic Institute says Revitalash and Latisse are very similar products–and, both are FDA approved. “They both use molecules designed originally for glucoma, and when people are using these products for glucoma, they found they had increased eye lash growth.” And, finally results from someone, who has used both products. Debbie reedy, started using Revitalash and then switched to Latisse, and never switched back. “I was getting length out of the Revitalash, as far as thickness, and darkness, I didn’t see that nearly as much with the Revitalash, I saw that when I initiated the Latisse.” REVITALASH VS.
