SLED: 5 men involved in death of SC State student

ORANGEBURG, S.C. (AP) — Authorities say five men were involved in the robbery of a South Carolina State University student killed during an April on-campus drug deal. The State Law Enforcement Division said Wednesday agents arrested a third suspect, 22-year-old Hillard Pinkney. He is charged with accessory after the fact of murder. SLED agents say Pinkney and two other men sat in a car as two more suspects who have already been arrested and charged with murder met 22-year-old Jonathan Bailey at the Orangeburg university to buy marijuana. The two men argued with Bailey over the quality of the drugs and how much was being sold. Investigators say the suspects attempted to rob Bailey. He tried to run, but was shot in the chest. It wasn’t immediately clear if Pinkney had an attorney. (Copyright 2011 by The Associated Press. All rights reserved.)
