State reports 9 deaths on SC roadways over weekend
COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — Nine people are dead following accidents on South Carolina roadways this weekend.
The South Carolina Department of Public Safety said Monday that three of the people killed were riding motorcycles. At least three others who died were not using seatbelts.
In all, 346 people have died this year on South Carolina roads. Authorities say that’s about the same as this timeframe last year.
Officials say more than half of those killed this year in motor vehicle accidents were not wearing seat belts.
